Even if it is a person they admire, we learn to pick out traits that are desirable and non-desirable. For example, they may choose to model themselves after their teacher's kindness and love of books, but not their poor personal hygiene. So I'd say having an obese teacher not only would not encourage obesity, it might serve as a deterrent.

One caveat would be is if this obese teacher is inundating your children with sweets as rewards and encouraging them to have an unhealthy relationship with food. I find this rather unlikely."-Quora

This is one of the many issues that prompt other school districts to point their fingers at this place and laugh.

These teachers work here only because they can't work anywhere else.
