 Access to child abuse and neglect investigation records
There are only three groups of people that may obtain child abuse and neglect records.

1. The subject of the report.
2. The representative of the subject of the report or a person authorized to get the reports on the subject’s behalf.
3. Those individuals authorized access to records under the Abused and Neglected Child Reporting Act (325 ILCS 5/11.1)

By law, everyone else is specifically prohibited from viewing child protection investigation records.
